I previously wrote a post about the bluetits having made a home in our previously unoccupied bird box.

Well they seem to be thriving and apparently busily feeding nestlings judging by the frequency of trips to the fat balls hanging by our kitchen door.

Here are a few images to show what’s going on despite everything else that we wish wasn’t happening

cleaning up

We now have several other nests in and around the fabric of the house. Here’s one who has made his home in an air brick on the South side of the house. It’s very conveniently placed for the bird feeders and you can see he has helped himself to the fat balls, but also seems to have a ready source of bright yellow caterpillars!

Lookout

Its reassuring to know that the natural world carries on happily raising chicks and feeding them with stuff we provide and natural protein rich resources.

Carry on chaps!
