A slice of Pi.

The Lusitano, also known as the Pure Blood Lusitano or PSL, is a Portuguese horse breed, closely related to the Spanish Andalusian horse. Both are sometimes called Iberian horses, as the breeds both developed on the Iberian peninsula, and until the 1960s they were considered one breed, under the Andalusian name.Wikipedia

Yearning for a play with a Lusitano I went to visit Annabel and her lovely horse Pi, who lives at a yard in Banstead, Surrey.

He is a dapple grey, possibly my favourite colour of horse.

I asked Annabel what was her favourite thing about him, and she replied straight away, his eyelashes. They are indeed impressive and gorgeous and I was rather pleased with this image I captured.

We had only a short time to work with Pi, as he was quite skittish. Annabel told me that once in the ring he will behave very differently and do anything he is asked to do. He was part of a team which recently represented Great Britain in the MCI European Dressage championships, and came away with the silver medal.

I love the Lusitano breed for their manes and tails, their nimbleness and their character.

While Pi might not have been the most relaxed model for a photoshoot he is quite a character and I really love the eyelashes!
